Weekend Update!

I hope you had a great weekend!

This weekend, I got to spend some time with my siblings (who I don't see often enough) at my older brother's conjoined bachelor/bachelorette party! We went to a theme park and had a blast! I really enjoyed my time at the park, but strangely, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel I booked. This was my first time booking my own hotel room and it was so exciting!

The only thing that put a bit of a damper on my hotel stay was the fact that when I arrived at the disclosed check-in time: five o'clock, my room wasn't ready! This was especially frustrating because I had intended to get ready in my room before heading to the theme park (on foot to save on parking)! The man I spoke with was so nice, so I just accepted the defeat and made the best of it. I was able to park in the hotel parking lot and they even offered to hold our bags in a storage room. About 15 minutes later, on our way to the park, I received a text from the hotel stating that my room was now ready! This only frustrated me more, but we were off to have a great time, so I shrugged off the bad vibes and had a really great time!

Upon returning to the hotel at around three in the morning, I swung by the front desk for my room key and was given 4 warm chocolate cookies by the woman at the desk! After making our way up to our room, my partner and I immediately began dissinfecting the hot spots of every hotel room (bathroom sink, toilet seats and handle, etc. We also placed our sheets that we brought with us over the made bed because we're both minor(?) germaphobes! We slept pretty well, however, upon our awakening I attempted to request a late checkout (anything later than eleven) but was ultimately denied. The best they could do was an extra thirty minutes, which I totally understand, as they have other guests waiting on their rooms (similarly to myself the evening before). We needed to be up and moving by then anyway because we were meeting my siblings and my brother's fiance's brothers for brunch!

All-in-all, everything about the trip was wonderful. I didn't intend for this to become a rant about my stay at a hotel, but you never know where life will take you. that's all I've got for now. Thanks for checking in! Stay safe and healthy! Goodbye!
